A classic situation in financial management: additional invoice requests come from several directions and the invoices should be sent as quickly as possible. From an automation perspective, there are two solutions:
1) Simple automation (implementation cost 1400 €), where Power Automate transfers data from Excel to the invoicing system and sends the successful invoice to the project manager in Teams. For our client, we chose this solution as they have a well-functioning Excel-based invoicing process for non-standard invoices that project managers are familiar with. So we automated the financial management part of the process:
Technology: Power Automate
Software in use: Financial system, in this example Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance
The role of automation is to:
- Freeing up time from routine tasks in the finance department.
- Reduce the number of errors by eliminating manual copying.
- Automation of invoice entry and dispatch speeds up invoicing.
Another option on how to change the process:
2) Building additional invoicing with Power Apps
If you want to get rid of Excel altogether, it is possible to build a visual interface using the Power Apps tool. This user interface can be embedded in, for example, SharePoint or the customer’s ERP system and is fully customisable. Check out our Project and Budget Creation App.
